Will Recycling Sorting Centers Become the Next Hotspot?

With the increasingly prominent problem of resource shortage, the recycling and utilization of renewable resources has become an important pillar of national resource supply. In March of this year, the State Council released the “Action Plan for Promoting Large Scale Equipment Renewal and Consumer Goods Exchange”, which swept across the country like a green wave, leading the construction of recycling sorting centers. This plan clearly stipulates that it will further improve the recycling network of renewable resources and support the construction of a batch of centralized sorting and processing centers. This not only helps to alleviate resource constraints and reduce environmental pollution, but also serves as a powerful lever to promote employment and improve people's livelihoods.

In this context, various regions have responded to national policies and listed sorting center projects as important construction objects. Shandong, Zhejiang, Hunan, Jiangsu, Hebei, Chongqing, Sichuan, and other provinces and cities have formulated detailed implementation plans, clarifying the construction goals and schedule of recycling resource sorting centers.

Taking Shandong Province as an example, the province proposes to accelerate the improvement of the processing and utilization level of renewable resources, and to build a number of provincial-level renewable resource industrial parks and sorting centers. Zhejiang Province is clearer in its plan to build 300 centralized sorting and processing centers for renewable resources and 15,000 recycling stations for renewable resources throughout the province by 2027, achieving “full coverage of counties”. Hunan Province is focusing on supporting the construction of a three-level recycling system consisting of waste material delivery points, transfer stations, and sorting centers, and creating a number of green sorting demonstration centers.

Recycling Resource Sorting Centers

In order to guide and promote this process, the Ministry of Commerce has issued the “Management Standards for the Construction of Green Sorting Centers for Renewable Resources”. This regulation provides clear guidance for the construction and management of green sorting centers for renewable resources. On this basis, GEP ECOTECH has launched a comprehensive renewable resource green sorting center construction plan with complete functions, advanced facilities, precise classification, and smooth operation based on years of industry experience. This plan includes the bulky waste shredding and processing line, recyclable material sorting line, waste metal recycling production line, and waste plastic recycling production line, aiming to achieve efficient recovery and recycling of renewable resources.

Bulky Waste Shredding and Processing Line

With the aim of rapid volume reduction, the bulky waste shredding and processing line integrates shredding, conveying, magnetic separation, dust removal, and intelligent control functions. This production line can quickly shred various bulky wastes, completing the entire process from loading to discharging in just tens of seconds, while effectively recovering metals. The remaining materials such as wood, plastic, sponge, and fabric can be classified and recycled as needed.

Recyclable Material Sorting Line

Recyclable materials include waste paper, waste plastic, waste glass, waste metal, waste textiles, waste wood, waste electronic products, etc. These recyclable materials have differences in size and weight, so we introduce automated sorting equipment such as trommel screen (or roller screen), wind sifter, eddy current separator, magnetic separator, etc., supplemented by manual sorting operations, to achieve effective separation of different substances. The separated waste metal and waste plastic are directly sent to their respective professional production lines for deep processing, and the remaining materials are either stacked and stored (such as waste glass), or packaged and transported for sale (such as waste paper, waste textiles).

Waste Metal Recycling Production Line

Scrap metal recycling, especially strategic metals, not only saves resources but also reduces import dependence, enhancing national economic autonomy and security. This production line adopts the “shredding+sorting” process, first using the double shaft metal shredder to shear and shred large-sized materials, and then sequentially passing through the trommel screen, magnetic separator, and eddy current separator, using different sorting principles to separate metals such as iron, copper, and aluminum, providing qualified recycled raw materials for terminal utilization enterprises.

Waste Plastic Recycling Production Line

This production line is mainly used for the shredding and recycling of plastic containers such as waste mineral water bottles, beverage bottles, milk bottles, coffee cans, shampoo cans. The operation from plastic bottles and cans to plastic chips is completed by a single shaft fine shredder. The recycled chips can be used in industrial applications with high added value, such as plastic pipes and plastic plates.

With the deepening of large-scale equipment updates and the trade-in of consumer goods, China's recycling sorting centers will face explosive construction opportunities. We have reason to believe that in the near future, these green sorting centers will become an important force in promoting the development of circular economy and contributing more green power to the sustainable development of China.
