On-site screening equipment can sort aggregate sizes of crushed concrete, masonry, or stone for greater marketability and lower transportation costs
A flat shaker, or vibratory screen is used in conjunction with a stump shear to remove dirt and stones before sections of wood are processed through a hammermill grinder.
A disc or star screen consists of a long box containing screening discs (or stars) mounted on rolling shafts that are installed very close together across the width of the box. When used after the Hammermill grinder, prechipped material is put into one end of the box. Material of an acceptably small size falls down between the rolling shafts and onto a conveyor belt that separates it into containers or piles.
A trommel screen is a rotating drum screen process, in which material is put in at one end of the drum, with the acceptable sized material passing through the wire mesh on the rolling drum and falling onto a conveyor belt. Oversized material exits out the end of the drum.
