The GEP ECOTECH straw crusher was installed and officially launched in Heilongjiang, China in mid-August 2020. It is mainly used to crush and dispose of corn stalks and straw stalks collected in power plants. At present, the straw crusher has successfully reached the customer's original design indicators. The output is stable at at least 40 tons per hour, and the motor current is within the normal design range value, which has reached the consistent satisfaction of customers. The customer's power plant is a 2×30MW power plant with two boilers, which are also used for urban heating in winter, and consumes at least 500,000 tons of biomass straw each year. Before our straw crusher was reached, the customer used 3 disc crushers, and the processing capacity of a single device could reach 15-20 tons, which was far from meeting the incineration requirements, which generally limited the thermal efficiency of power plant boilers and indirectly reduces power generation.
At the same time, the failure rate of the disc crusher is relatively high, and maintenance is required every day, and the wearing parts need to be replaced or maintained once every two days, and the use cost is very high.
Since our straw crusher was installed in place, the customer basically stopped 3 disc crushers. Our single equipment can handle at least 40 tons per hour. If the material is loaded in time, it can achieve 50 tons per hour. The power consumption is less than half of the three disc crushers, and the cutters have a long service life. The crushing of tens of thousands of tons of biomass does not require maintenance or replacement, and it can be carried at full load 24 hours a day for multiple days.
In order to test the performance of the equipment, the customer used to operate at full load 24 hours a day, 30 days, just to see how the performance of our GEP ECOTECH straw crusher equipment is. Through the test, customers are very satisfied with the disposal volume, discharge size, energy consumption, operational stability, reliability and low failure rate, which has been unanimously praised by the general manager and front-line employees.
